About Us

A big welcome from us all! We are the Maxwell Community Centre & Garden, the green heart of the Hilltown in Dundee since 2014. We support everyone in our neighbourhood to feel well and do well in life. We connect people of all ages and backgrounds with each other and with nature, restoring and growing food in our urban environment. Learn more about what we do, the story of our award-winning space and meet our fantastic team of staff, volunteers and board as well as our partners and funders.

What We Do

The MAXwell team supports and inspires people in our neighbourhood to feel better and do better in life through our three main areas of work (see below). Our unique model successfully brings together person centered care and support with urban food growing, cooking and youth development - strengthening our communities. Our creative and inclusive approaches offer multiple engagement possibilities to understand and decide together how to address diverse interests and needs. We believe in the transformative power of community gardening and cooking to support people, places and planet. This is why we help many other groups set up or run food growing projects and have created and are part of larger networks and partnerships to learn and share with others and influence change.
